Introducing the ZWO ASI6200MM Pro Camera Mono Full Frame
Amazing workmanship, lightweight body, solid image quality. The ZWO ASI6200MM Pro Camera Mono camera opens up the universe for you in the largest format!
ZWOhas worked hard to reduce the weight of the camera while improving the camera’s performance. After years of technical accumulation and repeated weight loss experiments by ZWO engineers. Result, ZWO has finally brought the ASI6200 to 0.7 kg.
Sensor of the ASI6200MM Pro
The ASI6200MM Pro uses full-frame format, the sensor length and width are 36mm x 24mm and the diagonal is 43.3mm. This is a 62MP camera with a small pixel size of 3.76um that can hold a large pit depth of 51.4ke.
16 bit ADC
The ASI6200MM Pro is our first batch of CMOS astronomy cameras with 16-bit ADC. This 16-bit ADC is not a CCD 16-bit ADC and can really achieve a dynamic range output of 14 stops. This greatly improves image sharpness and contrast, and color changes are smoother and more natural.
IMX455 illuminated sensor
Sony’s backlit CMOS image sensor improves sensitivity and noise reduction, the key factors for improving image quality. While the fundamental pixel structure is radically realigned from front lighting to back lighting. It has kept the advantages of CMOS image sensors such as low power consumption and fast operation.
With a conventional front lighting structure, the metal wiring and transistors on the surface of the silicon substrate obstruct. Which form the light-sensitive area of the sensor (photodiode), collecting photons through the lens on the chip. A backlit structure minimizes degradation in optical angle response sensitivity. While also the amount of light entering each pixel increases due to the lack of obstacles. Such as metal wiring and transistors moved to the back of the silicon substrate.
Sony has recently developed a unique photodiode structure and on-chip lens optimized for backlit structures, which achieve higher sensitivity and lower random noise without light by reducing noise, dark power and defective pixels compared to conventional prelit structures. structure.
Camera performance
The ASI6200MM Pro delivers excellent performance with a dynamic range of up to 14 stops. When the gain value is 100, the high gain HCG magic mode is enabled. This significantly reduces the readout noise and leaves the dynamic range essentially unchanged. It is recommended to set the gain to 0 or 100 in deep space.
Zero Amp Glow
Traditional CMOS sensors produce a weak infrared light source during use that is often seen in the corner of uncalibrated images as the telltale signs of ‘amp glow’. Since the ASI6200MM Pro uses a zero amp glow circuit. Don’t worry about the amp glow, even when using high-gain, long exposures.
Two-stage TEC cooling
ASI6200MM Pro uses two-stage TEC cooling which can lower the CMOS sensor temperature to more than 35°C below the ambient temperature, which can greatly reduce the generation of dark current and sensor noise even at longer exposure times.
The unique dark current suppression technology can further reduce dark current noise.
At a cooling temperature of 0°, the dark current noise is only 0.003e/s/pix. That means a 300 second exposure can cause only 0.9th of dark power noise, which is completely negligible!
