Description
Introducing the ZWO ASI385MC Color Camera
The ZWO ASI385MC Color Camera camera is equipped with a CMOS sensor with a diameter of 8.5 mm. The special thing about this sensor is its extremely high sensitivity. With a QE of up to 80%. The IMX385LOR is one of the most sensitive sensors in its class.
The new SONY STARVIS and Exmor R technology result in very low-noise images with a very high sensitivity. The moderate pixel size of 3.75 μm makes the camera very versatile.
Application areas of the camera
Moon and planets photography. Extremely short exposure times due to the high sensitivity freeze the air turbulence. Due to the high resolution of the sensor, many details can be reproduced even with a shorter focal length of the telescope. Video astronomy is also possible.
DeepSky images (nebulae and galaxies). Due to the high sensitivity, nebulae and galaxies are imaged after only a few seconds. Although the camera is not cooled, high-resolution, low-noise recordings are possible. By increasing the GAIN (similar to the ISO setting on digital SLR cameras), you can reduce the exposure time to less than 30 seconds. Effects due to air turbulence or inaccuracies in tracking will be disabled.
Advantages
- 2.5mm 170 degree All sky lens for spectacular overview shots – with T2 connection thread
- ST4 Auto guiding port
- USB 3.0 for fast image download
- High frame rate of 120 FPS (10-bit) or 67 FPS (12-bit), ideal for planetary photography
The ZWO ASI385MC offers very good performance for astrophotography. Low read noise, high dynamic range, QE peak of at least 80%, AR protection window.
