Like its predecessors, the iOptron CEM26 mount is designed with portability in mind, weighing just 4.5kg. The mount has a load capacity of 12 kg. The result of this is an incredible 2.6 mount weight to payload ratio. The key to enabling such proportions is the CEM design. The weight of the mount and the payload is aimed directly at the center of the tripod, which provides a “natural stability”.

It is clear that iOptron follows the path taken by previous CEM models with the CEM26. For example, iOptron has added a number of features for convenience and functionality. Including a positive locking system that is easy to use, even with gloves on. Built-in Wi-Fi provides superior connectivity. In terms of functionality, the CEM26 tracks extremely closely.

Middle Balanced Technique

The center-balanced design ensures that the weight of the optics is almost in the center of the setup. This provides a better center of gravity and that provides more natural stability. Other features include an adjustable counterweight rod to prevent obstruction with the tripod. And pole star alignment is always quick and accessible, as the polar finder is not blocked by the declination shaft.

The CEM26 is equipped with the latest advanced GO2NOVA GOTO technology. The database contains more than 212,000 objects. The Go2Nova Hand Controller is intuitive to use. The LCD screen simplifies the process of setting up telescopes and locating objects.

iPolar technology

iOptron has equipped the CEM26 with the iPolar system. That makes aligning to the pole star an easy job. This also ensures accurate alignment of a telescope even when the pole star is not visible. The mount also comes with iOptron’s 1.75 inch LiteRoc stainless steel tripod.

With the iPolar built in, this mount makes a real price fighter. Because just think, a PoleMaster with adapter easily costs € 350.00. The CEM26 is also available without iPolar, although that option will be less popular because it does not make a big difference in price. You will mainly have the choice of the CEM26 with iPolar and LiteRoc 1.75 inch tripod and this model, with the extra storage case, within our extensive range.
